After School Program Coordinator

**Immediate Need**

We're interested in bringing extracurricular activities back to Timber Lane, but we need parent volunteers to help. We are looking for a parent to work with the PTA in support of making this happen. This work would likely entail communicating with after school program vendors, the PTA Board, and TLES admin to determine schedules and logistics, and related activities.

Special Education PTA Representation

**Immediate Need**

The FCPS Special Education PTA (SEPTA) is a PTA organization affiliated with the State and National PTA but specifically established to address the unique needs of special education, special needs, and disabled students and families. We are looking for a parent to represent TLES and serve as the liaison with SEPTA & the TLES PTA.

Science Night Parent Volunteers

Volunteer before: 10/15, 5:15pm - 7:45pm

Join us for Family Science Night on October 15, brought to you by the Children’s Science Center Lab. Activities include: Stacking Currency: Building Financial Literacy, Superhero Species: Creating with Probability, Forensic Fun: Mystery Solved, among others. Students will be participating in these hands-on experiments, specially designed to provoke interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

We are looking for a minimum of 20 volunteers, no more than 30, to support this amazing event. Volunteers are needed from 5:15 – 7:45p.m. to set up, assist students with activities, and clean up. Click here to sign  up.

Election Day Bake Sale

Donation deadline: 11/2/2026

Each year on election day, the PTA sells homemade (or store-bought!) baked goods outside the school in an effort to raise money. You can sign up to donate baked goods by clicking here. 

You can sign up to volunteer your time on Tuesday, November 3rd to work at the bake sale stand by clicking here.  

Bingo Night Coordinator

Volunteer before: 12/1/2026

A great way to get involved within the PTA is to help coordinate the annual Bingo Night scheduled in February. Planning for Bingo Night does not start until December/early January.

Supporting this work typically involves coordinating food orders, ensuring we have appropriate supplies and prizes, and coordinating volunteers to set up/clean up and support the evening. This is not a substantial time commitment but helps ensure this fun family event is a success!
